7년 전, 섬을 주제로 한 전시 이후 오랫동안 마음속에만 품어온 바다들을 마침내 한 권에 엮었습니다. 작고 얇은 그림책이지만, 그 안에는 긴 시간 동안 모아온 바다의 장면들이 소리 없이 출렁입니다.

Book Description
Some comfort does not come through words. It comes through images.
The sea is not only outside of us. It lives in the places where swallowed words have settled, where unnamed grief rises and falls, that is the sea. This book is a story of the sea that exists within: a return, through emotion and memory, to something that was always ours, waiting beneath the surface.
We are not searching for the sea. We are becoming it.
A small book of imagery and layered storytelling, each page echoing with what lives beneath. When a single image or a single line touches the sea inside you — that is the consolation this book offers.

Vinyl Records Series는 바이닐(Vinyl)을 뜻하는 레코드와 기록(Record)을 뜻하는 레코드, 두 단어의 이중적인 의미에서 출발했습니다. 오래전부터 바이닐 커버는 그 자체로 예술성을 지니며, 하나의 오브제이자 충분한 아트워크로서 기능해온 매개체였습니다. 그 의미를 이어받아, 포스터를 담은 앨범 형태로 제작하고자 했습니다. 커버는 수작업으로 재단하고 접착하는 가내수공업 방식으로 만들었습니다. 최대한 아날로그적인 과정을 고집하려는 시도이자, 하나의 실험이었습니다. 저마다의 컨셉과 스토리를 담아 발매하는 앨범처럼 시리즈를 틈틈이 이어갈 예정이며, 이번 작업이 그 첫 번째 앨범입니다.
Vinyl Records Series takes its name from a double meaning — record as in vinyl, and record as in something preserved. Vinyl covers have long held their own as art — objects that carry aesthetic weight before the music even begins. Carrying that tradition forward, this series takes the form of an album that holds a poster within. Each cover is hand-cut and assembled, made one by one through a quiet cottage industry process — an attempt to stay as analog as possible, and one experiment among many to come. Like albums released with their own concepts and stories, this series will grow over time. This is the first.
